Casual essentials for an easy Summer

With the heat on our shoulders and the Hong Kong humidity at it’s highest – we all look towards the water – for its cooling relaxation just as much as for its inspiration.

The sea plays a huge influence on Summer fashion, and this season is without a doubt the same.

Now, if you follow my posts you would have noticed a lot of hype and mention around colour – colour blocking, colour jeans, colour monochromatic outfits – well, for those who wear their wardrobe on the more subtler side of fashion – this post will be one that is aimed at you!

The pastel yellow, teal, white and daring neon lime denim jeans that are featured in this post are all hot shades to wear when it starts heating up – but partnering them with neutrals makes for an even more sophisticated summer look.

Classic khaki tones of an earthly orientation will keep you land bound even if wearing a sailors stripe or beach embellished blouse.
As will a small selection of summer classics – non-fussy garments that will see you comfortable through the season!

If your wanting to define your look as a more understated and casual dresser then make sure you have the following wardrobe essentials this summer:

1.) Built-in bra tank.
Offering coverage and support (and an end to visible bra straps), tanks can be worn to workouts or cookouts—and even to the office, under a blazer or an over-sized waistcoat like below.

-
2.) Cotton blouse.
Choose a lightweight top in cotton to keep with a causal mood – it’s the most superbly  breathable fabric and the best material choice for the hotter days

-
3.) Cotton printed dress.

Stay comfortable even in heavy-duty humidity – and stay on trend while you do so with a specifically chosen print!  Keep an eye out for the prints of the season and make sure you match your summer dress in with this.
-
4.) Khaki shorts.

The summer-wardrobe equivalent of air-conditioning, khaki shorts keep you cool, comfortable, and looking crisp.

-

5.) Cotton drawstring pants.
A good-quality pair will take you straight from yoga class to lunch with a friend.
