Graphic prints have been HUGE this year – anything digitally manipulated (florals, geometrics, animal print), have introduced a stronghold in the fashion scene that perhaps some could say, is a visual reference to Social Media and the ever growing on-line lives that we live!
With so much of our personal and professional lives being lived out on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Weibo, Instergram, tumbler (just to name a few!) it’s no wonder that fashion is mimicking this movement and becoming very graphic and digitally orientated itself.
And it’s not just in prints that we can see this.
Whole outfits now take on this computer aged notion by having a very stark and linear feel to them.
Black and white ensembles are a key player in this trend – head-to-toe monochrome, or mixed together. Now the colours themselves are relatively classic, it’s the lines, cuts and structure of these outfits are where the modern digital age is highly noted.
Perfectly straight lines cut through garments, whether it is a black line down the side of white pants, white stripes framing edgy and almost architectural lines of a structured skirt or a geometric print.
Digital is more about the over-all appearance of an outfit, with the theme running all the way into accessories!
Shoes, clutches, earrings – everything seems to be affected by this theme.
Which without a doubt, makes it a trend to follow.
And considering it has a very limited colour pallet and by rule is un-complicated and far from fussy – it should be an easy one to incorporate into your already existing wardrobe
