La Perla Lingerie – Luxury at it’s height – showcased their Spring Summer 2012 collection at KEY Club (an equally impressive and charmingly exquisite ‘Members Only’ club in Hong Kong)

Plunging into the current euphoric revolution of Sixties fashion – which can be seen not only in the magazines, trending on the cat-walks, but also in TV series (Mad Men) - La Perla brought with it the 60′s ideals of Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Flower Power.

Classic fashion notions of that era gilded the craftsmanship of La Perla’s delicate designs via the use of lightweight fabrics, lace, and chiffon which were enlivened by bright pastels in mimosa yellow and sky blue. Blacks and whites were also weaved into this light theme, acting as an elegant base as to which the more fashion orientated hues could extend themselves from.

Patterns of roses and daisies, lay effortlessly on busts and enhanced the models décollage- drawing strongly on the absolute Venus-like femininity that is La Perla’s signature appeal.

La Perla’s fine detailing that lent to the notion that elegance can be achieved through nonchalance.

Summoning fashionable and female icons from the 60′s – La Perla, via clean lines recalled the sophisticated Jackie O, while Soutache, a staple technique in La Perla’s designs, in a mild and almost effervescent manner, enhanced the femininity that would have been adored by the likes of Holly Golighyly.

Sitting in the middle of the front row, I had perfect photo opportunities – although distracted constantly by the titillating La Perla models, the bubbles and mango panna cotta, my concentration swayed from one delight to the other – although I think I still managed to capture the looks presented at the event for you to see…
