Some of the beauty team at Dress Me – Sneha and myself (Jasmine) were sent a number of LAVERA items – which for me at least came in good timing!
Being in my late 20′s – I don’t think of my skin as ‘mature’ – however, a beauty consultant that I had a session with told me otherwise!
Due mostly to the climate of Hong Kong, it’s pollution, and yes, if I’m honest the coffee and alcohol I drink alongside the late nights – my skin is past the point of needing moisturizer (which is apparently for teenage girls – and is now in need of age defining products that will re-hydrate my skin.
And that’s where Lavera came to the rescue!
So here’s in short, our thoughts on the products…

Jasmine: The eye gel (which on my first application I mistakenly put ALL OVER my face due to it being late at night and more honestly – me not reading the packet properly) was light- weight and smelt fantastic!
I’m going to leave this up to Sneha to talk about more, as she would have had more of an opportunity to try it on a regular basis – I ran out of mine fast – eeek!
-
Sneha: Wild Rose Eye Gel – this is really great for dry or sensitive skin. It’s moisturizes perfectly and just smells heavenly!
Organic hand cream – I can’t stop using this. Definitely going back for more

Jasmine: This felt like a mask, so think, absorption was rapid however so absolutely no oily texture was left behind. Totally LOVED the Tea-Tree scent!
-
Sneha: Their commitment to using only natural ingredients makes me feel zero guilt for adding more chemicals after a day of running around in makeup, and I know that there will be no breaks out or problems with these products since they are just oh-so-natural!

Jasmine: Had a fantastically water-like/gel texture that really did HYDRATE the skin without clogging pores. Prob my fav out of the skin products!
-
Sneha: Lo’ and behold, they all became one of my favorites!
Lavera is a brand that has a lot to boast about! All products are organic and natural beyond belief! They also have over 100 VEGAN beauty products. Clearly, they are just any organic-lover or vegan’s ultimate dream.

Jasmine: The colour was slightly too dark for me – so I couldn’t wear it our of the house. It did last all day however – always a good sign in Hong Kong!
I don’t want to give a ‘yeay’ or a ‘neay’ on this product as it was really too hard to tell.

Jasmine: Now THIS I loved – it lasted a good month and I was using it everyday – twice a day in fact!
I put it on pre-moisturizer and it really did feel like it was protecting my skin and penetrating it quite deep (fingers crossed my fine lines were dealt with!) The application tube made a big difference – I enjoyed not sticking my fingers in the jar & possibly contaminating the gel – the product felt fresh and crisp every time I used it and I was able to easily control the proportions used.

Jasmine: I’m about to run out for this eye-brow gel and I’m sad already – it’s been the BEST one I have used to date!
The colour has the right amount of ‘ash’ in it to suit both blonds and brunettes, with no golden hues which often make eye-brow gel look artificial.
The texture doesn’t clog up or dry too fast which means that it’s easy to shape your brows into perfection with the gel.
There is also a short bristled brush in the lid which was perfect for pre-gel shaping.
And best of all, it still feels natural – my eyebrows didn’t stiffen into place. It was more like using a soft hairspray which resulted in a much more natural look and feel.

Jasmine: I love a bit of sheen, especially in the summer – it adds a freshness to the skin!
Now my pores are not as small as I would like – and I found that this product sat in my pores just slightly. I applied it after foundation, with a brush and blended it in. Now anything I put ontop (finishing powder, highlighting colour etc) just didn’t merge well when placed on top.
I found this product worked best on naked skin.
It’s the type of product I’d wear on a junk boat or to the beach.
It did however last and last and last once on!

Jasmine: I found the colour choices to be suitable for a more ‘classic’ dresser as apposed to a ‘fashion dresser’ – I’m always keen on new pop colours, and found these to be too neutral for me. However, that’s not a bad thing if your after a lipstick that is going to be able to be worn everyday.
The lipstick itself did glide on smoothly and really lasted. It didn’t fall into the creases of my lips, nor did it emphasize my dry lips, but instead moisturized them. These last two points I found important to the lipsticks likeability.

Sneha: Actually – my Mum stole it because the colour suited her so well!
It was super easy to apply. No fuss, didnt run and stayed for a good few hours!

MANY thanks to Lavera for sending these products out to review!
