MAKE-UP: The trick is…

A memory that no doubt, most females can recall:  Watching her mother apply make-up.

Now it might have been that one time your cousin was getting married – a little bit of eye-liner.  OR for the re-occurring dinner parties she hosted – double-dashings of black mascara and a full face of colour.  OR for an event you don’t recall – but the natural beauty of your Mothers bronzer you do remember!

For whatever make-up role-model category your Mother fits into – the truth is; Thanks to Mum we learnt that make-up transforms us.  It brings out our beauty and is one of the marks of womanhood… it can also be a BIG MISTAKE!  So readers, mark my words (if you don’t want to look back at those Facebook photos with regret):

Equip yourself with the right equipment!!!

Dress Me recently had make-up artist Kat Chan work her magic on model Marion.  With warm peachy hues, Kat applied colours in the slightest of ways, creating a look that was naturally made-up as apposed to a colour-by-numbers job.
Tips on how to achieve a natural look…

Use very little make-up and apply with professional brushes – M.A.C do fab brushes that are worth investing in!
SaSa quality make-up (cheap and affordable) is more than fine to use, no need to break the kitty for a blush that is HK$300 when it can be found for HK$30.  The reason you can wear lower priced make-up all comes down to the application method.  With quality brushes you will find that your make-up will be placed on your face in a manner that makes it look better and last longer.
For the same reasons we wear sneakers to the gym as apposed to stilettos – we should use quality brushes on our face as apposed to cheap versions.
