Dress Me caught up with Oksana, asking the questions we know YOU want to know…
When did you arrive in Hong Kong (and were where you before that?)
I have been in HK about 2 years and a half and before I was living in Europe ( Barcelona, Spain), city I consider my second home… I just love that city!
How do you balance life as a designer AND a model?
They are both too different yet complement each other.
The first one (designer) is more challenging to me because it sets my mind into a complex creative process that involves a lot of research and thought and it needs to considerate different dimensions such as economic and sociopolitical factors for the whole designing process.
The second one (modelling) is the vehicle to express and represent these products. For me modeling is the art of expressing different emotions, views, cultural behaviors and forms by way of fashion.
Tell me about your brand and vision.
Muyumy/Bluumy Denim de Costa Rica is not only a clothing brand but it is a lifestyle.
Step by step we are also extending into different product categories that also attempts and embody values and aspirations.
Ultimately one of our goals is that people identify themselves with our brand and be able to express their own personalities and styles through our clothes.
Your product is quite unique due to a special type of stretch denim, can you tell me about it and how it works so well on the female form.
For our denim product we worked with a special and exclusive knitted fabric which is very flexible and stretchy but with 100% recovery after wash and use.
This means that it wont lose its form after a while of use and washing.
The added value for this high -end line, is that it fits like a second skin to the body accentuating the natural female forms like if wearing a legging but the look is that of a jeans.
Our main goal is to develop products of high quality, fashionable, perfect fit and sexy.
Who would you LOVE to see wearing your jeans? (celeb, idol…)
Every woman can wear our jeans.
Like mentioned earlier our brand is a lifestyle that aspires values of success, beauty and confidence and everyone who wants it can achieve that.
I have seen already from petite to tall, to skinny to curvy, to black and white women wearing my jeans and they all look absolutely great on them.
How do you personally style your jeans when you wear them?
The good thing with this high-end denim line is its versatility. You can wear it for many occasions.
I personally style them in many ways, from a casual look with sneakers, flats, sandals, tees, tops and t-shirts to a more stylish look with clean shapes and cuts combined with metallics and shimmering tones, bold accessories and jewelry, pumps and heels to create a more luxurious and sophisticated look.
