Tasmanian ballroom – a luxe pool hall, home to private tables, flaming champagne bottles, models and business men - played its part as the backdrop to ‘MOUSSY’s’ fashion partaaaaaay last Tuesday night.
Breaking all the rules, starting with a mid-week mash-up of free flow alcohol and sexed-up models posing lankily with hips thrust forward and hair hanging long in a wild but appropriately in a rock-chic manner, this launch was literally an excuse to egg-on rock-god alter-ego’s and pretend the Tuesday night was not a school night but instead a Saturday full of drunken potential.
The brand MOUSSY (a Japanese innovation, launched in Hong Kong 2006) exhibited last Tuesday what seemed to be the essence and inspiration derived from their Muse.
Instead of showing the collection in a normal catwalk manner, MOUSSY brought each attendee INTO the MOUSSY world, showcasing instead the edginess and independent attitude that marks their wearers and dubs their muse as perfectly MOUSSY!
A brand for the essential Rock God/dess – themed ROCKSTAR, the AW11 collection is heavily influenced by the rock music scene in the 70′s. Tracing back to MOUSSY’s philosophy of “Be Myself, Sexy and Cool”, this seasons concept transforms MOUSSY’s muse as a glam rock star or a devoted groupie. Like 70′s rock music exuberating freedom and power, she is wild, daring and free spirited; radiating allure and style at the same time. Black, grey, Bordeaux and dark military green dominating the season colour palette, with leopard and jaguar pattern widely seen throughout the collection. MOUSSY is a functional brand that texturizes itself with street practicality and bedroom appeal – all accentuated with it’s rock glam nature.
