Oriental VERSACE (& H&M)

The perfected stance of sexuality and wealth radiates through the Italian brand ‘Versace’ – it’s fashion, it’s wearers, it’s name – with the sensual V’s and S’s just wrapping your tongue around the word eludes to acts of indulgence.

And Donatella Versace seems to be the very embodiment of these notions.  With her platinum blond, perfectly sculptured hair, her tweaked features and full assets, and her particular personal style which inspires lust worthy appetites… And all at an extravagant cost!

That is until H&M announced their collaboration!

This highly anticipated collection combined elements of Versace’s iconic designs, molding them to suit a broader mass majority along side the budgets of the more common fashionista.
With lower prices and a wider audience the collection needed no media hype to encourage Asian buyers.  However, Hong Kong fans, far from the Italian poster girl – blonde and wide eyed – don’t sync perfectly into the classic Versace look (that is going by the  catwalk shows, the add campaigns and even their lookbooks).
With images of sleek black hair instead of blond, fierce sultriness displayed via almond shaped eyes and seductively taunt bodies – the Asian women seemed the perfect candidate for a Versace Pin-Up Girl.
And so our team got to work…
Migs (photographer), stylist (Jasmine Webster), makeup artist (Yan Leung) and Roy Pang (Hair Stylist) gave Versace an oriental twist…
