Mesh - alluringly attractive AND COVERING

Sexy VS Social Appropriateness

Sexy VS Social Appropriateness… To set the scene, just think: Friday night, destination Lan Kwai Fong, Martini in one hand, a fabulous clutch in the other, hot heels and an outfit that screams feminine confidence and sensuousness – NOT SEXINESS!

Not sexy!!?

NO – NOT SEXY – sexy is for the bedroom, sensual is for public.

Being sensual keeps you looking like an ultra goddess without revealing much at all. Remember – we are in HONG KONG, not Miami where skin on show is the accepted look. Here in Hong Kong women have a lot more class and dress to complement a more conservative culture.

Now fashion trends are not always user-friendly here in Hong Kong – but that doesn’t mean that they are off limits!

Here are a few tricks to give the sense of sensuality WITHOUT bearing all…

- Sheer Black Stockings - instant appeal AND coverage! Add to a short evening dress of any colour to automatically give a covered but classy look.

- Mesh - Cleavage covering and delicate it portrays a woman who knows she has assets but doesn’t reveal them for everyone to see! (Go for dresses that seem strapless but cover your chest with delicate mesh)

- Luxurious Fabrics - Slink and slide around the city in dresses made from lush satin, cashmere, or touchable fabrics. Without revealing anything at all your body will look and feel ravishing!

- Cardigan - Think beading, sequins, sparkles and then you’ll have the right cardigan. Remember, were not in the office, were OUT, so swap the dowdy grandma knit for a black beaded number and you’ll easily cover and still look glam.

TOO MUCH?

Not into layers? Simple follow the ‘Either Or’ Rule – Show your legs OR your bust – your back OR your arms – Choose ONE part of your body that is going to be the focus and cover the rest. This way you can highlight your best body part, drawing attention to those slender arms or shapely legs without looking like you’ve scored yourself a role in the movie “Pretty Woman 2″ (which is apparently on the casting now!)

Gwyneth Paltrow, a personal favourite of mine knows exactly how to dress appropriately and draws on all the above rules (mesh, cardi, sheer stockings, luxurious fabrics…) to insure a stunningly sensual (NOT SEXY) look.
