The thing I adore most about Karen Millen designs are their ability to shape, tuck and nip the female form into perfection!
Tailored in a way that effortlessly sculptures figures, no matter what the seasons ‘theme’ it’s ALWAYS one that one can depend on in terms of an attainable Marilyn Monroe figure!
This season that glamorous tone that Karen Millen carries with it was once again super-luxe with elegant head-to-toe looks in bold and contrasting colours.

Alternatively, for those who like to be able to breath when glamorizing the town in a Karen Millen number – this season did produce a soft, refined side collection which incorporated draped and flowing silhouettes into the seasonal picks. Pants were languid with draped waist-bands and had a fuller leg. They were seen paired with soft kimono-sleeved silk, block coloured silk blouses or collaged vests and beautiful signature biker jackets in soft washed leather and suede.
Lace once again continued to be a key theme in the collections but this time around got bolder with heavy embroidered lace in daisy yellow and white a-line minis (an affordable alternative to the Chanel numbers I’ve had my eyes on!) Geometric dot lace was cut into sporty tees in black or white, bringing a sense of ease and modernity to the collection. Elsewhere demure lace shifts in old gold or deep claret are cut with deep V necklines and flattering black pencil skirts.

There was quite an eccentric tone to the Karen Millen S/S’12, with floral and abstract prints showcased aside heritage Karen Millen animal prints from the last decade. Archival animal print was reworking into new silhouettes from paneled shifts and sundresses to neat pencil skirts in zebra and giraffe. This is safari at it’s best!
